Jenny Lyons is in her final year of counselling training with Interpsyche, Dartford. She comes to Amadea as a highly qualified specialist whom I believe will bring so much value to the Practice.
Just like when a Doctor reaches the "Registrar" stage of their training. Counsellors have to train to a certain level before they are deemed "fit to practise". Having trained to this level, counsellors have to achieve 100 hours of counselling clients, alongside plenty of supervision and additional training. Having completed their training, supervision and
100 hours counselling, then they become "fully qualified" with a Level 4 Diploma in Counselling.
"I am in my final year of training as an Integrative Counsellor / Psychotherapist at the Interpsyche Training Institute in Dartford and I am passionate about what I do. My training is NHS based and to the British association of Counselling and Psychotherapy standard. Prior education includes a degree in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Health Psychology.
My integrative training draws on different theoretical approaches, however, I would describe my approach as humanistic integrative, which relies upon the importance of the relationship between the counsellor and client to enable mind, body, feeling, and soul to come together as a whole. I believe at the centre of this is the relationship we have with ourselves, and the world around us.
I am a warm, friendly, empathetic and understanding person and can offer a safe, friendly, supportive and confidential space where you have time to share your difficulties and concerns."
